Mission Regional Medical Center is fortunate enough to have the
invaluable assistance of many people volunteering their time and
effort to our Hospital. Currently the Hospital has over 140 Active
Volunteers, and over 120 At-Home Volunteers.
An Opportunity To Give Back
Mission Regional Medical Center needs energetic Volunteers to help with
several areas in the Hospital. There are many different Volunteer Roles
to fit individual time schedules, abilities and interests. A Volunteer
has the opportunity to help at one of our different areas. The areas
in which a Volunteer may assist are:
- Information Desk
- Messengers
- Clerical
|
- Gift Shop
- Nursing Grandmas
- Home-Workers
|
Interested in helping Patients and Visitors with their stay in our Hospital?
Want to give directions and lead people to the right place? Then come help
us at out Information Desk!
At our Information Desk, you will be responsible for proving Patients
and Visitors with information about our Hospital. As an Information Desk
Volunteer, you will answer incoming phone calls from people wanting general
information about Mission Regional Medical Center. You may also answer calls
from people wanting to speak to a Patient. The Volunteer will have to
transfer the calls to the appropriate parties. Along with answering phone
calls, you will also give out Visitor Passes to Guests wanting to see a
Patient. If a Visitor needs help knowing where to go, you will be able
to help them with directions and/or lead them to the place.
Volunteer Messengers do a lot for our patients. Messengers have the
responsibility to help our Staff at the time a patient is dismissed
from our Hospital. A Messenger will go for the patient and wheel them
out of their room. You will also deliver flowers to their rooms. You
will be there to bring a smile to our patients!
Not only will you be helping our patients, but also our Staff. A
Volunteer Messenger will also run errands for our Departments.
Do you have experience working in an office environment? Would
you rather be helping our Departments organize their paperwork?
You may volunteer in the Clerical area of our Hospital!
A Clerical Volunteer is working with more administrative duties.
Responsibilities may include answering phone calls, filing documentation,
and perhaps faxing. There are several Departments that may need your help:
- Education
- Business Office
- Human Resources
- Marketing
- Dietary
- Emergency Front Desk
Responsibilities and duties may differ in every Department.
Have you ever worked in a Store? Are you familiar with handling a cash
register? Do you want to learn? Volunteer at the Mission Regional
Medical Center Gift Shop!
At our Gift Shop, you would be offering Customer Service. Assist
customers in purchasing gifts for their loved ones! Help our guests
with the purchasing of snacks, gifts and Mission Regional Medical
Center mementos. Show us your Sales skills!
Do you love babies? If so, you will love being one of our Nursing Grandmas!
A Nursing Grandma would work with our Maternity Department. Help us with
our little bundles of joy! You can help us feed them and change their
diapers. Or you may even rock them to sleep! Bring some extra TLC
(Tender Love and Care) to our Maternity Department babies. The little
ones will certainly appreciate the extra attention!
Is your time not too flexible to volunteer? Do you think you could
assist us from your home? You can be a Home-Worker Volunteer!
Home-Worker volunteers make items for the Maternity Dismissal Pack.
Give the Newborn Babies some gifts! Baby Blankets are sewn by our
Home-Worker Volunteers. You may also knit Booties and Hats! Help
